Summer
Camps

Pre-Zoo Summer Camp (for children 3-5 years old) |

Members: $125, Non-Members $135 per child per week
All Pre-Zoo Camps run one week and include crafts, animal encounters,
story times, games, snacks, live keeper talks, Lorikeet feedings
and a Creek Day! |

June
16 - June 20: Little Keepers - Do you want to work at the zoo
when you grow up? Learn what animals at the zoo eat and how to take
care of them. Meet some of our zoo keepers and watch them feed the
animals.
June
23-June 27: Animal Babies - Learn about many types of animal
babies. Those born alive and those hatched and babies that can take
care of themselves from the start and babies that need their parent's
help!
July
7 - July 11: Call of the Wild - How do animals communicate?
Find out if a Prairie Dog really barks, why the Barred Owl has different
calls and how to talk to a River Otter. Discover how our Zoo animals
use their sounds, movements and posturing to send messages to us
and to each other!
July
14 - July 18: Tiny Tadpoles - Let us show your preschoolers
how nature is your neighbor whether you live in the city or in the
country. This camp features water play and science at Jordan Creek,
a private tour of our new Amphibian Collection and instructive games
such as "The Life Cycle Shuffle" and "Back to the
Pond Habitat"

28 - August 1: Little Keepers - Do you want to work at the zoo
when you grow up? Learn what animals at the zoo eat and how to take
care of them. Meet some of our zoo keepers and watch them feed the
animals.
August
4 - August 8: Hoot and Howl - Can you hoot like a Barred Owl
or howl like an Arctic Wolf? Come explore the fascinating lives
of owls and wolves. From chicks and cubs to nests and dens, we'll
have fun learning all about these captivating animals.
August
18 - August 22: Creepy, Crawly Critters - Would you like to
have 4 legs, 6 or even 8? Or how about no arms or legs at all? There
are so many unique creatures in the Animal Kingdom - come learn
about and meet some of the more unusual ones

23 - June 27: The Art of Nature - Explore nature and art together
in the zoo! Learn how to sketch, paint and sculpt your favorite
zoo animals while having fun at the zoo - we will enjoy animal encounters,
play games, attend keeper talks and explore the creek!
July
21 - July 25: Froglets - This camp promises to engage the imagination
and intellect of any fun-loving environmentalist. This is an entertaining
program designed to introduce children to the natural awesomeness
of amphibians through a variety of art, science and math activities.
The program also includes a genuine field study - the campers will
get to enter their own data onto a central database! Don't miss
out.
August
4 - August 8: Feathered Friends - Learn how you can create a
bird sanctuary in you own yard! Experience the thrill of holding
a bird on your arm! This camp features keeper talks at the Lorikeet
Landing, Scarlet Macaw and a behind the scenes field trip to the
Birds of Prey. The action fills out with an art sculpture project,
games and a play presentation.

21 - July 25: Amphibian Amigos - Embark on an amphibian adventure
and discover the fascinating world of frogs, toads and salamanders.
Campers will learn fun facts about amphibian characteristics, life
cycles, habitats and what they can do to help protect amphibians
from extinction through games, crafts and exploring our very own
amphibian habitats here at the Lehigh Valley Zoo.
August
11 - August 15: Kamp Kilimanjaro - Join us on an African adventure
through all aspects of our new Wanyama Africa exhibit. Campers will
experience African wildlife and its importance in African culture
with zoo keeper talks, animal encounters, interactive games and
creative crafts.

7 - July 11: Nature's Transformers - Don't miss this fun and
engaging camp - amphibian encounters will be a highlight during
the week! Learn how these amazing animals change and transform during
their lifecycle as campers explore metamorphosis, adaptations and
more. Tours, hikes, a project of the week and an overnight on Thursday
are just some of the week's adventures. Camp ends at noon on Friday.

11 - August 15: Zoovivor - Learn how animals survive some of
the toughest conditions and test your own survival skills during
this fun and exciting week at camp. Tours, hikes, a project of the
week and an overnight on Thursday are just some of the week's adventures.
Camp ends at noon on Friday.

14 - July 18: So You Want to be a Zookeeper... - Do you dream
of working with animals? Would you love to work at a zoo? During
this week, campers will meet keepers, and other members of the Lehigh
Valley Zoo team to learn what it takes to run a zoo. Tours, hikes,
a project of the week and a special overnight on Thursday are just
some of the week's adventures. Camp ends at noon on Friday.
July
28 - August 1: Amphibian Ambassadors - Become an ambassador
for the amphibian species! Learn about frogs, toads, salamanders,
caecilians and more and what you can do to communicate to others
and ensure the survival of these fascinating creatures. Listen to
the frogs speak as we camp outdoors during a special overnight adventure
on Thursday. Camp ends at noon on Friday.

Wildlings of Winter Camp

There are many animals at the Zoo that love the winter season just
as much as kids do! This camp features an enrichment activity with
our River Otters, a snowman sculpture activity, an animal presentation,
games and a lesson on how to use binoculars. |

Wildlings of Winter Camp
(for children 6-10 years old) |

30; 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Members: $17 per child, Non-Members $22 per child

As the title suggests, this is the same camp as the Little Wildlings,
but designed for kids who are a little older. This camp features a
behind the scenes look at the Zoo's Arctic Wolf Exhibit! These wolves
are perfectly adapted for a cold climate. Through role play and interactive
games, the campers will learn how wolves survive in the wild. |
