Habitat: Mostly aquatic – located in East and South East Asia. It lives in the mountain streams and in the costal areas.

Diet: Omnivore

Physical Description: This Toad is slightly flattened with a bright red underside with black mottling.

Behavior: When threatened, it arches its back, flattens its body, and lifts its limbs over its head to display the vivid red and black coloration. They also produce a unpleasant secretion through its skin.

Reproduction: The male calls to attract the female. The female lays small clutches of large eggs under rocks in streams.

Status: Common

Fun Facts:

Tadpoles survive on algae, fungi, and plants, while the adults eat a variety of invertebrates, including worms, insects, and mollusks.
The pupils of the oriental fire-bellied toad are triangular-shaped.
