Experience life as an animal of the night! Find out who comes out when the sun goes down as you walk and slither your way through the Zoo to observe nocturnal animals such as our Red Kangaroos in action.
As a fun-filled overnight excursion or half-night evening outing, your adventure will combine the excitement of exploring the Zoo from a nocturnal perspective and engage in hands-on activities that inform participants about wildlife conservation and nature. Your Explore & Snore adventure beings at 6:00 p.m. and lasts until 9:00 a.m. the following morning. Activities include a late night tour of the Zoo, an animal presentation, evening snack, flashlight hike, and continental breakfast. Explore & Snore is designed for individual groups to provide a more personal Zoo experience. This evening program is offered any night of the week year-round and is ideal for clubs, organizations, and scout groups. Our Conservation Education staff can customize Explore & Snore programs as part of the Smart FUN to work toward scout requirements or assessment anchors for schools.

Program animals include reptiles and amphibians such as snake, skink, and turtle; birds such as penguin, parrot and crane; and mammals such as a rabbit, ferret, sloth, and porcupine. Due to the needs of our animals, we cannot guarantee a specific animal species. All animals presented will be appropriate for the Explore & Snore audience.
