Did you know that January 20th is Penguin Awareness Day? Get the celebration started early as we celebrate January 18th, 19th, and 20th!
We will be featuring two opportunities to observe our colony of African Penguins getting fed by our Zookeepers at 11AM and 2PM daily. Be sure to stop by and chat with our staff about fun facts or any penguin-related questions you may have! As a fun way to commemorate your visit to the zoo, be sure to swing by our climate-controlled, indoor RAD center to purchase (and paint) your very own penguin ornament! Each ornament has been imprinted with the footprint of one of our very own African Penguins!
Ornaments will be on sale for $10/each (ornament painting is included with purchase) while supplies last. All proceeds from ornament sales will go directly toward our zoo’s conservation efforts.
And on Monday, January 20th, join us from 10:30AM-11:30AM as we feature one of our African Penguins for a special guest meet and greet in our Bison Room! These African natives are a crowd favorite so be sure to come say hello! Remember your cameras so you can snap a photo. Our knowledgeable Conservation Educators will be on-site as well to answer any questions you have about our colony! For information on how to book a private encounter with one of our penguins, please contact our Education Department at email@example.com!
