Summer Camps

Lehigh Valley Zoo invites campers for an exciting week of nature discovery, animal adventures and Smart FUN!  Week-long camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for ages 4-5 and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for ages 6-14.
Summer camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational presentations, games, and nature crafts.  All campers receive a snack, camp T-shirt and certificate of participation.  For full day camps, campers need to provide their own lunch.

Extended Care options may be available, please contact the education department.

It’s a Jungle Out There

Ever wonder who hangs around in the woods?  Visit the Zoo to learn what animals can be found in nearby forests and tropical rainforests found around the world.  Through special Zoo tours, nature walks, animal presentations, and activities children will learn about animals of all shapes and sizes that call the forest home.   

Water You Waiting For?

Jump right in to this exciting water-themed week!  Learn about the wet and wild creatures that live in rivers, lakes, and oceans and how you can help save them!  Get a chance to explore the Jordan Creek, take a special Zoo tour, and have an animal encounter.

Nature Calls

What does the fox say?  Learn about foxes and other local critters and how they communicate. Enjoy nature hikes, creek walks, and outdoor activities that will awaken your senses and help you see and hear nature in a whole new light.    

Art Safari - Back by popular demand!

Explore nature and art at the Zoo! Learn how to sketch, paint, and sculpt your favorite Zoo animals.  Campers will also enjoy animal presentations, interactive games, keeper talks, and a nature hikes to the Jordan Creek.

Awesome Animal Oddities

Have you ever seen a fox that likes to climb trees, or a parrot that drinks nectar instead of eating seeds?  Get on the trail through the Zoo as you search for some of the world’s most unique animals.  Through Zoo tours, animal presentations, and exciting activities, you’ll learn what makes some animals stand out from the rest and why their interesting abilities are important for their survival. 

(Ages 11-14 years old)
Price: $275.00 (Zoo members save $25.00)

Time:  9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
(Camp runs 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. – overnight on Thursday, camp ends noon on Friday.)       Pricing:  Zoo members: $250, non-members: $275

July 14 through 18, 2014
9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday
*Campers sleep overnight at the Zoo on July 17. 
Camp ends on July 18 at 12:00 pm.

Do you know how to survive in all types of climates? Camp participants will learn about the world’s biomes and how animals, and themselves, stay alive in new, normal, or extreme conditions. Join us for this exciting and adventurous camp!

Wild about Wildlife  

9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday
*Campers sleep overnight at the Zoo on August 7.
Camp ends on August 8 at 12:00 pm.

Are you considering working with animals? There are so many ways! From zookeepers to conservation educators to exhibit designers, there is a wide range of zoo and animal careers.  Camp participants will hear from Zoo professionals during scheduled demonstrations and participate in special Zoo tours to help them discover more about their dream job!
