Lehigh Valley Zoo invites campers for an exciting week of nature discovery, animal adventures and FUN! Week-long camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for ages 4-5 and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for ages 6-14. A snack is provided for all camps. For full day camps, campers need to provide their own lunch.

Summer Zoo Camp sessions are offered all summer long for children ages 4 to 14 and include a camp T-shirt and certificate of participation. Kids and teens learn about nature, science and the animal kingdom while hiking through the Zoo, exploring behind-the-scenes, and investigating nature. Summer adventure camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational presentations, games, and nature crafts. Weekly schedules vary depending on the grade level, conservation education staff, and weekly camp theme.

Penguin Adventures

Ever wanted to get nose-to-beak with a penguin? Come to the Zoo and learn about our African Penguins. Get an up close view of these tuxedo wearing birds and learn about them through interactive games and presentations. Enjoy a special visit from one of Lehigh Valley Zoo’s African Penguins!

Water Wonders

Do you love the water as much as we do? This nature camp features water play and science at the Jordan Creek, a special Zoo tour, and animal encounters that will educate campers about how all living things need water to survive.

Animal Kingdom Art
8/13-8/17/2012
Discover art masterpieces in the animal kingdom. Observe the different colors, patterns, designs, shapes, and sizes found in the animal world. Learn how each animal’s unique art helps them in their habitat. Campers will enjoy animal presentations, interactive games, and design our own WILD animal art.

Guess What’s for Dinner

Explore what it means to be a predator or prey and the different types of food animals eat. Campers will observe the different species of incredible animals in the Zoo and discuss their adaptations for finding dinner. This camp also includes animal presentations, examining animal artifacts, interactive games, and nature crafts.

Art Safari Back by popular demand!

Explore nature and art at the Zoo! Learn how to sketch, paint, and sculpt your favorite Zoo animals. Campers will also enjoy animal presentations, interactive games, keeper talks, nature hikes, exploring the Jordan Creek.

Conservation Connections

Did you know that Lehigh Valley Zoo is helping to save wildlife around the world and that YOU can, too? Campers will learn and explore ways to help wildlife in our own backyards, neighborhoods, and around the world.

Ages 11-14

(Camp runs 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. – overnight on Thursday, camp ends noon on Friday.)

From zookeepers to conservation educators to exhibit designers, there is a wide range of zoo and animal careers. Camp participants will hear from Zoo professionals during scheduled demonstrations, participate in special Zoo tours and meet the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. This camp provides valuable information on what it takes to work on the wild side!
