Mornings at the Zoo
Ages 12 months-3 years

Hop on in! This is a Zoo Camp for toddlers and adults that meet four mornings throughout each session. This action-packed program features animal presentations, games, guided tours, snacks, crafts, and an interactive story time.

Dates and Times : 9/14, 9/16, 9/21, 9/23/2010 (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
  9:30 -11:00am
Pricing: : Members: $70, Non-members: $85
    One adult admitted free with each paying child
    

Parents Night Out
Ages 4 -10

Parents have a wild good time on an evening out on the town! Kids enjoy an entertaining and educational animal experiences exploring the Zoo and surrounding nature preserve. The Zoo will provide pizza, refreshments, and all the fun.

Harvest Celebration
Ages 4-5 years

Celebrate the Autumn Season! Learn why leaves change color and fall to the ground, why some trees are green year round, and how different animals prepare for winter through games, animal presentations, and a Zoo tour.

Fun Froggy Friday
Ages 4-5 years

Leap for joy, it’s Friday! Campers will have the chance to get an up close and personal experience with several different species of frogs. Enjoy learning about frogs, their strange survival tactics, and their fascinating life cycles through fun games and crafts.

Take a walk on the slimy side! Join us in an amphibian adventure as campers learn fun frog facts! Discover a variety of unique amphibian attributes, adaptations, and habitats with the Lehigh Valley Zoo’s animal ambassadors and exciting frog festivities.

Wild Winter Zoo Camp
Ages 4 -5

Bundle up for this adventure through a Zoo wonderland! Did you know that many of the Zoo animals love the winter season as much as children do? Escape to the Zoo and uncover how animals survive and thrive in the cold through role play, interactive games, and animal encounters.

All Pre-Zoo camps include animal crafts, animal presentations, story time, games, snack time, live keeper talks, lorikeet feedings, and a creek day!

Tiny Tadpoles 6/28-7/2/2010
Let us show you how nature is your neighbor whether you live in the city or in the country. This camp features water play and science at the Jordon Creek, private tour of our amphibian collection, and instructive games such as “The Life cycle Shuffle” and “The Tadpole Twist”.



Penguin Pals 7/19-7/23/2010

Ever wanted to march like a penguin? Come to the Zoo and learn all about our African penguins. Get an up close look at these tuxedo wearing birds, and learn about them through games and presentations.



Backyard Zoofari 8/2-8/6/2010

Explore the zoo in your own backyard! Join us for an insect safari, a backyard bird trek, and a cold blooded creature quest. Discover who might be lurking right outside your back door and other places in the world.

Art of Nature 6/28-7/2/2010 & 8/2 -8/6/2010
Explore nature and art together in the Zoo! Learn how to sketch, paint, and sculpt your favorite zoo animals. We will also enjoy animal presentations, games, keeper talks, hikes, and explore the creek!



Mammals, Birds, & Reptiles, Oh My! 7/12-7/16/2010

Ever wonder what it would be like to run on 4 legs, fly, or have scaly skin? Uncover the similarities and differences among furry mammals, fluffy birds, and scaly reptiles through games and tours at the Zoo.



Animal Appetites 7/19-7/23/2010

Ever wondered what animals have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Catch a glimpse of our animal menus and even create your own. Meet some of our education animals and learn their favorite foods with fun food festivities, crafts, and more.



Zoo Friends 7/26-7/30/2010
Ever wonder what it would be like to have a penguin as a friend? Or even a kangaroo? See if you can figure out the relationships among the animals while creating your very own friendships with the animals at the Zoo through animal encounters and zookeeper talks.



Slither, Swim, Jump and Fly 8/9-8/13/2010
Attention all animal friends! If you love all animals this camp is for you! Tours, hikes, projects and live animal presentations are just some of the weeks exciting activities.



Safari Camp

Zoovivor 6/28-7/2/2010
Could you survive in the dry Saharan desert or the rugged Amazon jungle? Learn how animals survive some of the toughest conditions in the harshest environments, and test your own survival skills during this fun and exciting week at camp.



So You Want to Be a Zookeeper? 7/12 -7/16/2010 & 8/2 -8/6/2010

Have you ever dreamed of working with animals? Would you love to work at the Zoo? Campers will meet keepers and other members of the Zoo team to learn what it takes to run a zoo. Tours, hikes, and animal projects are just some of the week’s adventures.



Animal Passports 7/19 -7/23/2010
Travel around the world with the animals at the Zoo from the African savannahs to the Australian outback. Learn about animals from different continents of the world and the unique ecosystems in which they live through games, activities, and animal presentations.



Up, Up, and Away! 7/26 -7/30/2010
Ever wish you could fly? Explore the animals of the sky and learn about the animals of the air. Bats, birds, insects and more! Discover how animals fly and what life is like in the air.



Zooper Heroes 8/9 -8/13/2010
Do you wish you could have an animal super power? Come to the Zoo and create your own animal super powers and learn about how animals use their skills and super adaptations to survive in the real world.

Time : 9am-3pm (Camp runs Monday-Wednesday 9am-3pm,
   9am-overnight on Thursday and camp ends at noon on Friday)

Eco Adventures 7/12 -7/16/2010 & 8/9 -8/13/2010

    Ecosystems are all around us. Join us for an eco adventure
  exploring wildlife in and around the zoo with trips Hawk   Mountain and Cape May, NJ.

Animal Enrichment 7/26 -7/30/2010

Pricing : Members: $240, Non-members: $265
    Ever wanted to be a Zookeeper’s sidekick? Well here’s your
  chance! This camp will let you talk to the Zookeepers and help
  them brainstorm games and activities you think the Zoo
   animals will like to keep them busy and active during the day.
  Enjoy a special overnight on Thursday.
