Our exercise yard is an enrichment space that has been designed to provide our animals with both physical and mental exercises as part of our animal enrichment program. Great enrichment promotes a range of behaviors and the opportunity to solve species appropriate challenges.
The ambassador animals enjoy this space when they are not participating in education programs. Guests can see ambassador animals in the yard on warm sunny days.
Check out our video below to see some of the ambassador animals in action!
Our ambassador animals participate in a training program to work on a variety of behaviors. The program focuses on a variety of behaviors to make their life in human care the most comfortable it can be. The most common behaviors an animal will learn is target, crate, and station.
Check out our video below of Cody, the Western Box Turtle, target training in the exercise yard.
